University of Kashmir Announces Recruitment for Various Positions in Geography & Disaster Management Department: The University of Kashmir, NAAC Accredited with Grade A+, has invited online applications from domiciles of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir for multiple vacancies in the Department of Geography & Disaster Management. The recruitment is as per Advertisement Notice No. 03 of 2025, dated 02.04.2025.

Vacancy Details

The University is seeking eligible candidates for the following positions:

1. Cartographer (Post ID: PGD-GR-19)

• Pay Level: Level-6 (₹35,400 – ₹1,12,400)
• Vacancies: 01 (UR)
• Essential Qualification: M.A/M.Sc in Geography with at least 50% marks and a six-month Certificate/Diploma in RS & GIS/Geoinformatics.
• Desirable: Proficiency in Digital Cartography.

2. Surveying Assistant (Post ID: PGD-GR-20)

• Pay Level: SL3 (₹16,900 – ₹53,500)
• Vacancies: 01 (UR)
• Essential Qualification: M.A/M.Sc in Geography with at least 50% marks.
• Desirable: Proficiency in Advanced Surveying, including Total Station and DGPS.

3. Photographer (Post ID: PGD-GR-21)

• Pay Level: Level-5 (₹29,200 – ₹92,300)
• Vacancies: 01 (UR)
• Essential Qualification: M.A/M.Sc in Geography with at least 50% marks.
• Desirable: Proficiency in Photogrammetry and Image Interpretation.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must be between 18 to 40 years of age as of 01.01.2025, with relaxations for specific categories:

• 42 years for Physically Challenged candidates.
• 43 years for SC, ST, RBA, OBC, EWS, LAC/IB candidates.
