Summer Vacation Announced for Government Degree Colleges in J&K: Jammu & Kashmir, May 30, 2025: The Higher Education Department of Jammu and Kashmir has officially announced the summer vacation schedule for all Government Degree Colleges across the Union Territory. The order, issued today by Shantmanu (IAS), Financial Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary, outlines the vacation dates for colleges falling under both Jammu and Kashmir divisions.
Here’s a breakdown of the summer break as per the region:
Jammu Division
- Summer Zone Colleges:
Colleges in areas that typically experience hotter summers will remain closed from June 1 to July 15, 2025. - Winter Zone Colleges:
Institutions located in relatively cooler zones will observe summer break from July 15 to July 24, 2025.
Kashmir Division
- All Government Degree Colleges in the Kashmir Division will also observe summer vacations from July 15 to July 24, 2025.
This staggered vacation plan ensures academic continuity while allowing institutions to take a timely break based on their regional climate conditions.
The decision was made keeping in view the rising temperatures in some areas and the need for adequate rest and preparation time for faculty and students.
Students and staff are advised to stay updated through their respective college administrations for any changes or further announcements.
