Schools in Select Zones of Jammu Division to Reopen from May 15, 2025 — Others to Remain Closed: Jammu, May 14, 2025 — The Directorate of School Education, Jammu (DSEJ) has issued an important order regarding the reopening of schools across the Jammu division. As per the latest directive, starting May 15, 2025, schools (both Government and Private recognized) in certain zones will reopen, while others will remain closed until further notice.
Here’s what you need to know:
Districts & Zones Where Schools Will Remain Closed:
- Jammu District: Arnia, Bishnah, RS Pura, Miran Sahib, Satwari, Marh
- Samba District: Purmandal
- Poonch District: Rajouri, Balakote, Harni, Nangali, Mandi, Kanuyian, Sathra, Poonch, Khawas, Lower Hathal, Darhal, Surankote, Buffliaz
Districts & Zones Where Schools Will Reopen:
- Jammu District: Chowki Choura, Bhalwal, Dansal, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, Purmandal, Akhnoor, Jourian, Khour
- Samba District: Ramgarh, Vijaypur
- Kathua District: Ghagwal, Marheen, Hiranagar, Barnoti, Lakhanpur, Sallan, Ghagwal, Kathua
- Rajouri District: Manjakote, Doongi, Nowshera, Peeri, Kalakote, Thanamandi, Dandesar, Sunderbani, Moghla, Kotrenka
- Poonch District: Baljrarallan, Mankote, Mendhar
The decision was made to ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff, keeping in view the ongoing circumstances in the region.
What Schools Need to Do:
- Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs) are responsible for ensuring full compliance with safety guidelines issued by the School Education Department and other relevant authorities.
- School heads are directed to resume academic activities in an orderly manner and maintain close coordination with local administration and law enforcement agencies.
