Schools in Jammu Division to Reopen from May 19, 2025: Jammu, May 15, 2025 – The Directorate of School Education Jammu (DSEJ) has officially announced that all Government and Private recognized schools in the Jammu Division that were yet to reopen will now resume functioning from May 19, 2025.

This decision follows a previous directive issued on May 14, 2025, and applies to all districts under the Jammu Division. The move comes as part of the Directorate’s efforts to ensure the timely resumption of academic activities, following recent closures.

According to the official order issued by Joint Director Subah Mehta (JKAS), Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs) have been tasked with ensuring that every school under their supervision strictly follows all guidelines issued by the School Education Department and other authorities. These include safety protocols to safeguard the health and well-being of both students and staff.

Heads of Institutions have been instructed to facilitate a smooth and orderly return to classroom learning. They have also been advised to maintain regular communication with local administration and law enforcement agencies to ensure a secure and well-organized reopening process.

This reopening marks an important step in continuing the academic journey for thousands of students across the Jammu Division, ensuring minimal disruption to their education.

The Directorate has urged all stakeholders – school heads, teachers, parents, and local officials – to cooperate fully and prioritize the safety of students while restoring normal academic routines.
