Schools Closed in Select Areas of North Kashmir Today as a Precautionary Measure: Bandipora, Kupwara & Baramulla | May 13, 2025:
Authorities have announced that schools in several parts of north Kashmir will remain closed on May 14, 2025, as a precautionary step. The decision affects specific areas in the districts of Bandipora, Kupwara, and Baramulla.

Bandipora District:

In Bandipora, all government and private schools in Zone Gurez will remain closed for the day. However, teachers have been asked to report to duty as usual. Schools in other zones of the district will continue to operate normally.

Kupwara District:

In Kupwara, most schools will reopen on May 14, except for those located in the Karnah sub-division, as well as Keran, Machil, Budnambal, Jumagand, and Kumkadi. In these areas, classwork will stay suspended due to safety concerns.

Baramulla District:

In Baramulla, schools falling under Zone Uri, Jhulla, Chandanwari, and Boniyar (Subdivision Uri) will also remain closed on Wednesday. Schools in the rest of the district will function as usual.
