Schools and Colleges Closed in Baramulla, Kupwara, and Gurez Amid Prevailing Situation: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir: Baramulla, May 7, 2025 — In light of the prevailing situation in north Kashmir, all educational institutions in the districts of Baramulla, Kupwara, and the Gurez valley will remain closed today, announced Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri.
The decision has been taken as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety and security of students, staff, and the general public. Authorities have urged parents and students to remain calm and follow official updates for further instructions.
“Keeping in view the current situation and in the interest of public safety, all schools and colleges in these areas shall remain closed for the day,” said Bidhuri in an official statement.
The administration has not specified the exact nature of the prevailing situation, but it is believed to be a preventive step amidst heightened security concerns in the region.
Residents are advised to stay indoors unless necessary and cooperate with local authorities.
