School Timings to Change from Monday, Confirms Education Minister Sakina Itoo: Srinagar, May 22 (JK Students Desk): In response to the ongoing heatwave across the region, Education Minister Sakina Itoo has announced that school timings will be revised starting Monday. The move comes after growing concerns from parents and students over the scorching temperatures.
Speaking to reporters, the minister confirmed the decision but did not disclose the new timings. “We have received numerous calls from parents requesting a change in school hours. After careful consideration, we’ve decided to shift to an early morning schedule starting Monday,” she said.
An official order detailing the new timings is expected to be released shortly.
Minister Itoo also supported the idea of conducting morning assemblies indoors or under shade, wherever feasible, to ensure student safety during high temperatures.
Over the past few weeks, daytime temperatures have seen a significant rise. According to the Meteorological Department, the heatwave conditions are expected to persist.
