“My top priority is to ensure the complete rehabilitation of the affected families,” LG Sinha said. “Under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Hon’ble Home Minister Shri Amit Shah, we are fully committed to securing and strengthening our border communities.”

He highlighted that the administration is working to build more individual and community bunkers across Jammu and Kashmir under the Security Related Expenditure (SRE) scheme to better protect civilians during such attacks.

During his visit, the LG also offered prayers at the revered Gurudwara Dera Santpura Nangali Sahib and engaged with members of the local community. He praised the residents of Poonch for their resilience and unity in the face of adversity.

“Pakistan showed its cowardice by targeting sacred places like Gurudwara Dera Santpura Nangali Sahib, as well as a temple and mosque,” he said. “These attacks were a vile attempt to disrupt our social harmony. But the people of Poonch, especially our Sikh brothers and sisters, stood strong. Their unity is a powerful message against those who try to divide us.”

Reaffirming India’s stance, the LG said that the Government of India, the J&K administration, and the Armed Forces remain resolute in their mission to eliminate terrorism and counter any attempts to stir communal tensions.

He added, “India’s strength under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi is being recognized worldwide. Every community is being empowered, and no enemy can break our unity.”

Later in the day, LG Sinha visited the Dungus area, which suffered damage from the shelling. He also held a high-level review meeting with senior officials to assess the situation and direct immediate action for restoring essential services.

He ordered a detailed report on the measures taken so far and directed authorities to accelerate the construction of bunkers, improve medical infrastructure at the district hospital, and strengthen civil defence mechanisms.

The LG commended the swift response of the local administration and security forces, who have been working tirelessly to protect and support the affected communities.

He was accompanied by Chief Secretary Shri Atal Dulloo, IG Jammu Shri Bhim Sen Tuti, Divisional Commissioner Shri Ramesh Kumar, Deputy Commissioner Poonch Shri Vikas Kundal, and other senior officials.
