ADMISSION NOTICE FOR UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE PROGRAMMES, 2023-24
It is hereby notified for information of all the concerned that the admission to Undergraduate Degree Programmes for 1st Semester of B.A/B.Sc/B.Com/ BBA/BCA in all the Government Degree Colleges (Summer/Winter Zone) of UT of J&K affiliated to the University of Jammu Kashmir, constituent colleges of Cluster University of Jammu Srinagar, as well as autonomous colleges viz. Govt. College for Women, Parade Ground Jammu, Islamia College of Science and Commerce, Srinagar and Govt. Degree College, Baramulla will be done online through Samarth portal (https://jkadmission.samarth.ac.in) an e-Gov Suite.
Details of eligibility, admission procedure, important dates, participating HEIS and other instructions are available on the admission website. The aforementioned admission portal shall open on 27-07-2023.

J&K Colleges Admission UG 2023 General Information
CUET UG 2023
Under-Graduate (UG) Programs are offered by the colleges affiliated to University of Jammu, University of Kashmir, constituent colleges of Cluster University of Jammu, Cluster University of Srinagar and three autonomous colleges namely Women College Parade Ground, Jammu, Govt. Degree College Baramulla and Islamia College Srinagar in various streams of studies under different faculties namely Arts, Applied Social Sciences & Humanities, Education, Interdisciplinary & Applied Sciences, Music, Commerce & Business Studies, Mathematical Sciences, Sciences, Social Sciences, etc.
For the academic year 2023-24, admission to all UG Programs of Government Degree Colleges of UT of J&K will be done on the basis of Common University Entrance Test- Under-Graduate2023(CUET-UG– 2023) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) and also 12th Class results (Non-CUET). The candidate may note that the role of NTA is limited to the conduct of CUET (UG) – 2023, declaration of results, and handling of queries related to the entrance examination.

Simply appearing in CUET (UG) – 2023 will not be a sufficient condition to secure a seat in Government Degree Colleges, J&K. For admission to the Government Degree Colleges of J&K UG Programs, candidates have to apply on the portal :https://jkadmission.samarth.ac.in.
J&K Colleges Admission UG 2023 Eligibility & Admission Process
Admissions to Government Degree Colleges of J&K for UG Programs are based on the eligibility requirements, criteria, and procedures specified in the University/ autonomous college specific U.G BoI-2023, which includes Common Minimum Eligibility criteria, ProgramSpecific Eligibility, reservation, and supernumerary quota criteria available on the University’s official website. Candidates who did not apply for CUET 2023 can apply in non-CUET category in the Late Entry Round of the admission for left over seats. The eligibility criteria for every program offered at the UG level has been published in the UG Bulletin of Information-2023 (UG BoI-2023) available on the website of the Universities/Colleges.
Candidates must check the eligibility criteria carefully from UG BoI-2023 of Universities as well as Colleges and the Samarth Portal. There are no additional eligibility criteria besides the ones stipulated by the University through its website, UG BoI- 2023. Before initiating the application process, the candidate is advised to read the contents of this document and UG BoI-2023 carefully.
It is mandatory for the candidate to apply and fill preferences online on the admission portal, i.e., Common Seat Allotment System (CSAS). Application submitted through any other mode will not be accepted under any circumstances. Seat allocation to all UG Programs will be based solely on the scores obtained in CUET (UG) – 2023. For Late entry round merit obtained in 12th class will be considered.
The candidate must refer to the list of Programs, Program-Specific Eligibility Criteria, fee structure and other relevant information published on the website of the Universities / colleges. Determination of eligibility and verification of documents for admission to Government Degree Colleges of J&K, will be the sole purview of affiliating Universities of J&K.
The merit lists published on the Admission website shall be adhered to by all Colleges of J&K.
Eligibility Criteria for CUET applicants
- Candidates must have successfully completed Class XII or its equivalent from a recognised board.
- Candidates must have appeared in the CUET (UG) – 2023 examination.
Eligibility Criteria for Non CUET applicants
- Students who did not appear in CUET should register themselves on the same portal by filling out the application form on the admission website.
- After the admission process for CUET candidates is completed, non-CUET candidates will have a fair opportunity to apply for programs in colleges of their choice based on seat availability.
