BGSBU Announces Summer Vacations for Teaching Programs from June 1 to July 15, 2025
BGSBU Announces Summer Vacations for Teaching Programs from June 1 to July 15, 2025: Rajouri, J&K – May 30, 2025: Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) has officially announced the summer vacation schedule for the year 2025. As per the latest notification from the Office of the Dean Academic Affairs, all teaching programs under Postgraduate (PG), Undergraduate (UG), and Diploma courses will observe summer break from June 1, 2025, to July 15, 2025.
However, it is important to note that the summer vacation schedule for the Nursing College, Kishtwar, will be notified separately.
Faculty Duty Roster and Rotation Plan
To ensure academic continuity and availability of staff, the university has directed all Associate Deans to implement school-wise rotation of faculty members instead of department-wise rotation during the vacation period. Due to limited faculty members, the School of Material Sciences and Nanotechnology will coordinate with the School of Engineering & Technology for this purpose.
All Associate Deans are required to issue a roster duty list to their respective faculty members before the commencement of vacations. Copies of these duty rosters must also be sent to the Dean Academic Affairs, Registrar, and Controller of Examinations for official recordkeeping and coordination.
Examination Duties and Leave Protocol
University authorities have emphasized that no teacher is allowed to proceed on vacation without:
- Completing all assigned examination-related duties.
- Obtaining mandatory outstation leave permission.
Faculty members who are required to stay back for examination-related work will be eligible for Detention Leave, as per university rules. However, they must submit a proper application through their respective controlling officers — such as Principals, Heads of Departments, or Coordinators — with clear justification for their detention.
A Message of Coordination and Responsibility
This notification reflects the university’s commitment to both academic discipline and faculty welfare. It aims to balance the need for a well-deserved break for teaching staff with the academic and examination responsibilities that must be fulfilled before vacations are availed.
