GATE 2024: The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) has extended the registration deadline for GATE 2024 until October 5, 2023. The decision was made due to the high number of applications received. Candidates can apply through the official website. The GATE 2024 exam is scheduled for February 3-4 and 10-11, 2024, with admit cards being issued on January 3, 2024.
The Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru (IISc) has extended the last date of registration for GATE 2024. Candidates who are interested and have not yet applied for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering 2024 can now apply till October 5, 2023, by visiting the official website at gate2024.iisc.ac.in.
The institute said that it received more than 1.37 lakh applications on September 29 for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering 2024, hence, to enable more aspirants to apply the GATE 2024 registration deadline (without late fee) has been extended.

“GATE 2024 team has decided to extend the deadline for registration without late fee until Oct 5th, 2023. However, please do not wait until the last moment of this extended deadline,” posted the official X (formerly Twitter) handle of GATE 2024.
Candidates can directly visit the GATE online application processing system (GOAPS) at goaps.iisc.ac.in to register for the examination. A step-by-step process to register online is shared below for candidates’ reference.

- Step 1: Visit the official website at goaps.iisc.ac.in
- Step 2: On the homepage, click on Register Here.
- Step 3: Now fill out your personal details to register and create login credentials.
- Step 4: Now return to the homepage and log in using the generated login details.
- Step 5: Proceed with filling up the online application form.
- Step 6: Make the payment of application fees.
- Step 7: Download the confirmation page and take its printout for further use.
