Schools to remain closed Tomorrow in J&K: Private Schools’ Association of J&K Announces Mourning and Closure of Schools on April 23 Following Pahalgam Terror Attack

The Private Schools’ Association Jammu and Kashmir (PSAJK) has expressed profound shock and sorrow over the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Anantnag, which claimed the lives of several innocent civilians. In response to this tragic and inhumane act, the association has declared April 23, 2025 (Wednesday), as a day of mourning and protest.
As a mark of respect for the victims and in solidarity with their families, all private schools across the Union Territory will remain closed tomorrow. The association emphasized that this symbolic gesture is meant to honor the memory of the deceased and to voice collective condemnation of such violence.
President of PSAJK, Mr. G N Var, issued a heartfelt statement expressing deep condolences to the bereaved families. He said, “We strongly condemn the terrorist attack at Pahalgam and stand united with the families of the victims. Closing our schools is a small gesture to express our grief and outrage over this senseless act.”
The association reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to peace, non-violence, and the values of humanity. It called upon all stakeholders to come together and work towards a safer and more harmonious society.
